It started on Thursday just finished the first vocal for the new album and then went of with Thomas to see spv about the release date which went really well, olly one of the team down there gave me copy of metal hammer another great revue of the st gorge day, the tour bus picked us up and of we rolled to Sweden rock got there just in time to see the Judas priest set which was great didn’t get to meet them and say hello but we play together on some dates well get a chance then .we got to the hotel and the after show was in full swing first guy I met Brian Robertson of thinlizy ect who I hadn’t seen since motorhead days, got myself a large wine turned the corner and fell over Dave ling who wrote the revue in said paper got to thank him personally which is rare id just met the drummer from crucified Barbara who I introduced to Dave, they played at hard rock hell so he new them anyway out of the corner of my I saw Thomas looking a bit worse for ware partying a bit hard with our mates from primal fear and jog mickeal had to send him of to bed.did a bit more drinking and went to bed end of first day

we headlined the rock stage with the eagle production went on stage just as the sun was setting on a beautiful day over thirty thousand fans going nuts great day great festival great people a bit busy didn’t get to meet too many people back stage said hello to the guys from Hanoi rocks got the singer of amon amarth back stage told the security he was my brother and we were of to Valhalla together he must have thought it was a club or something he just shrugged and let him in went to see fast eady and co fastway and hung out with tobie and watched witesnake like the new album they started the show with a track of it, so as denim & leather fades into the night the bus roles of to Germany Steve strange our agent is on the bus with us so there was much rejoicing and wine flowing making plans deep into the night knowing we’ll not remember a thing the next day so of to sleep

Woke up at the rock am ring where the German grand prix is held went for a shower .on the way back I just happened to say it would be good to drive around the track the guy in charge of security just happened to have worked the eagle for us in the past so he said he’d take us round so me and Doug grabbed Nigel whose a formula one nut as I am and we went around the long track (I videoed it coming soon) .so the day started good we’ve never played this festival before the organization was brilliant it is a huge festival we are playing on the coca cola club stage in a tent not any tent but a tent that holds about 10 thousand people so quite a big club!! I heard a lot about a band called airborne so went to check them out f!!!!!king great band meanwhile another great band from down under arrived our good mates rose tattoo and there was much rejoicing, I’d been asking Thomas if anybody could get a pass to visit metalica to say hello of all the years of touring we’d never played on the same day before at any concerts nobody could give us a clue how to get across from our stage to theirs ,so feeling pissed of we hatch a cunning plan to send a message via e mail hoping something could be done just as we were giving up all hope of a meeting a German guy waltzed in the dressing room and said something with metalica in it or maybe he wanted a screw driver what do I know we were about to hand him over to nibs who speaks German and gibberish he said in English metalica are comming to see you for the second time in my life I was speechless at that point someone mentioned that they went on stage 20 minutes after we started and by the way your on stage in 5 minutes of we went defeated in our quest ,rose tattoo had just finished there set when we got to the stage and there was much rejoicing ,standing in the dark waiting for the play on for atila the Hun to start there was a tap on my shoulder turning in the gloom coming up the ramp there they were Lars and James coming to say hello and there was rejoicing on an epic scale at which point the f!!!!king play on started!, don’t no how they made it back to the stage in time for there set but they did. the tent was packed and I must say the fans were great we had a great time on stage met up with the boys from danko Jones got back to dressing room not really tiered 40 minutes is nothing for us we usually play over two hours, the same guy walks in the room says the cars are waiting what cars we said to take you over to the other stage he said what stage we said he said there stage we said whose stage he said if!!k off so of we went to see metalica play f!!!!king amazing stage set, we stood at the side of the stage and some guy walks up and says come with me and he takes us though the stage set into the tunnel to the cockpit (that’s what its called) behind Lars if you’ve seen the shows its where they go to change guitars its a bit similar to what we had on the crusader tour every thing behind the castle set, suddenly they play princess of the night and a bit ot motorcycle man

That’s what I call a good day and the guys in the band went out of there way to be friendly and say hello we really appreciate it we know they are big Saxon fans and we want to thank them f!!!!ÖÖÖÖ!!king brilliant so after 28 years we finally met metal warriors in the circle of life when fate put them together many years ago to bring them full circle to meet again the circle is complete.(ok its a bit poetic but I’m a singer that’s what I do ) the next day was even better but I’ll tell you that story later I have to ad a bit although I’m having a perfect weekend my wife is not with me and I do feel guilty feeling this good without her with me so to sue and all our wives and partners !!your f!!!!!king brilliant as well on a sad note our dog died today Cindy she’s been with us 15 years we will remember to absent freinds

Just to fill you in on new stuff we will play the Montrose jazz fest in jazz 14th july

The new album will be out in January there will be a single for release in October on download we have not decided the title of the album yet but the single will be called live to rock and spv will be making a vidio
